📚Class work

Three important things I learned from today’s talk show include the use of ICT in healthcare.  

1. ICT’s contribution to enhancing the healthcare services in Bhutan  

2. Issues, for example, when the internet is not available and financial crises  

3. Healthcare is getting support from devices such as phones and other gadgets.  It is interesting to note two things.  Because of ICT, people can now get information more quickly and easily.

Better decisions and more accuracy  There is 1 question that continues to interest me. How people who are illiterate will be able to use ICT.

  Using information and communication technologies, disaster management in ICT4D supports better planning, response, recovery and prevention of different disasters. A part of this is to improve how disasters are managed by relying on technology and to help communities protect themselves against different kinds of risks. Important Parts of Disaster Management in ICT4D   1. Preparedness: Emergency systems based on ICT give advance notice about possible disasters such as floods, earthquakes or hurricanes. Digital tools allow training and simulation exercises so people and emergency teams can prepare for any disaster.  2.   ICT4D focuses on e-waste because technology shifts fast in this field and developing regions count on electronic items more these days. E-Waste Management is beneficial in ICT4D.  Converting e-waste to recycled materials saves scarce resources such as metals, plastics and glass which may be used to create new goods.  Employment Chances: E-waste recycling provides jobs in the community because refurbishing electronics demands skilled workers. By handling e-waste correctly, it is possible to lower the risk of harmful substances such as lead and mercury, spreading in the environment and affecting people’s health.  By practicing responsible recycling, people ensure that devices storing sensitive data are dealt with safely to prevent data theft or breaches.  Refurbished electronics may be provided or offered for little money by companies, helping others get the technology they need and improving education.
